Reviews

"The game drives surpassed expectations every time as the rangers and trackers were so excellent. Food and lodging also very good. All the staff were friendly and their efforts were of a high standard. Was not keen on the 30 seater prop plane for the second flight but the time at Shiduli was more than worth it. The Drakensberg trip was awesome as was the Rehabilitation Center and stroking a cheetah!!!"

"Shiduli is a great private game property where we saw tons of animals on the evening and morning drives. The staff were nice and very knowledgeable about the area/plants and animals and made the experience one of a kind."

"My wife and I were more than happy with this first class lodge. We found the accommodation clean and quiet and very relaxing between safaris. Our guide Morris and tracker Michael went out of their way to locate the Big 5 and succeeded, plus many more animals and birds. Their knowledge of the wildlife added to our experience, and folk lore is always interesting. What a great touch being met after the safaris with hot towels and a drink, just like the "Rich and Famous". The staff were friendly and inviting during our stay. We have many pics. and more memories. Thank you for the great vacation. Gary and Joan"

"What a superb holiday we have just had at Shiduli Game Lodge. Our room was room 4 which was excellent. It had good air conditioning, mosquito nets around large single beds. The bathroom was very spacious with 2 hand basins and a massive walk in shower. We did not spend long in bed as we were called early morning for our game drives at 5am!! The game drives were so good thanks to our ranger/driver Ellen and our tracker Johnson. They were so skilled at finding the animals, that we saw a male lion with a kill within the first 15 minutes and 4 of the `Big Five` in the first game drive. From our previous experiences on safari, we know how lucky you are to see a leopard. We have only seen one close to, but on our game drives during the week we saw 4 different leopard, including 2 mating. Unbelievable! The only criticism of the lodge was that the food could have been better. Some nights it was good, but some nights it was quite poor. The staff were lovely in every respect, they were friendly and smiling and could not do enough for you. We had a leak on our shower, which we reported and it was fixed by the time we came back from our morning drive. An excellent holiday and we will go back to Shiduli again."

"There were 12 in our party and we were treated very well. The lodge is beautiful and in the evening you can sit outside and watch the impala, the monkeys and the baboons with a glass of wine in your hand! The game drives are superb as are the rangers and the trackers. We saw all the big five and many other animals too. We had 'sundowners' watching the hippos. Fantastic!"

"We recently spent 3 days at Shiduli. Our stay was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived we were made so welcomed by the beautiful staff. Our driver Evens and tracker Connie made every drive an adventure, they were fantastic. We managed to see the Big 5 and many more, some times you felt that you could reach out and touch them, you felt that close to them. This holiday exceeded all our expectations, absolutely recommended Shiduli if you are looking for a Safari holiday."

"Shiduli was welcoming, comfortable, and a great setting for an amazing safari experience. Each day's game drives were exciting adventures, tracking down big cats and elephants or being surprised by rhinos, giraffes, zebras, hippos....and much more. We enjoyed our guide and tracker and the international guests. The staff was very helpful and kind, beds also very comfortable, food very good."

"Having been to South Africa once before, twelve months ago with Saga, albeit to a different game lodge, which we thought would be hard to beat, how wrong can you be! Shiduli Game Lodge is better than the brochure states. It is set in beautiful, well maintained gardens, has three pools, loungers and other seating everywhere. The rooms are superb, large bed made daily, large bathroom with walk-in shower. Chocolates and an African story on the bed each night (a nice touch!) The food was fantastic - breakfasts, dinners, teas -even the packed lunches were good. Be prepared to put on weight!! Like everybody who stays at a game lodge in S.A. the animals are what you want to see. Our rep/ranger, Jen, did not disappoint. A friendly and knowledgeable person, who managed to find us the 'Big Five' in two days. To be so close to a pride of lions was breathtaking and to have the elusive leopard walking out of the bush past the front of our vehicle is unreal, a real treat. The early starts (5.30) are worth it!! The day trip to the Kruger was excellent. We thought this would be in a minibus but was, to our delight, in an open topped game vehicle. Our driver for this trip and the tour to the Drakensberg mountains was named Johnny. What a star! A friendly and very knowledgeable man. I could go on and on about this holiday. Shiduli is a gem of a place. Every single member of staff a true delight, very friendly and can't do enough for you. We were lucky to be in great company, our fellow travellers were fantastic! Would highly recommend a stay at Shiduli. You will not be disappointed. We will be going back (can't wait!)"

"Shiduli lodge is a wonderful place to stay. Monkeys, warthogs and other wildlife roam around the grounds. The staff are very friendly and helpful and there is a lovely little shop. Jen our guide and Diff our Tracker were excellent and we saw four of the big five on our first game drive. The food was very good and plentiful. A fabulous African experience!"

"We have just returned from a 3 day safari .The stay was absolutely amazing. We were treated like royalty by the wonderful staff. Our guide Evans & tracker Connie were marvelous, going the extra mile by taking us off road so that we were often within a couple of meters from the "Big 5 " & many many more. The final WOW factor was the amazing song & dance send off performed by Alvinah &other; rest of the staff. Truly recommend this as a must have holiday."
