Reviews

"We did not stay at the main lodge, but went to the River Lodge. It was our favorite of 8 places we stayed in the Kruger area. It is small and intimate, private, with just 5 rondavels. The site overlooks the Olifants River, so there is always something to watch. Hippos lounge, crocodiles, elephants and even Springhares. The staff are superb. The food excellent. We had excellent guides, Sasha, and the lodge's owner. We took walks, visited a watering hole and got to see some things up close that you don't see from the vehicles. The walks along the river were especially fun, with lots of birds. Good spot for Pels Fishing Owl, a very rare species, but we did not see it. This is a real gem. It is priced less than other camps/lodges we visited, which were maybe a little more posh. But the food and viewing were not as good at the more expensive places, Sefapane River Lodge was better. And none had a river in front with all the things to see and beautiful sunsets like Sefapane. The food was very good and not over the top extravagant like a few places we visited. Recommend this very highly!"

"A fine place to stay after a long drive from Johannesburg. Nice and clean lodges close to Kruger Parks Phalaborwa gate. Air conditioning in the room. swimming pool near the restaurant. We enjoyed the dinner served at the restaurant."

"We stayed in the main lodge for two nights and river lodge for 2 nights. The main lodge is well situated within a mile of Kruger Park gate and close to the airport (although we drove up from Jo'burg through the Blyde River Canyon which was stunning). The houses are very spacious, clean and well equipped. The grounds are extensive and well looked after, the kids enjoyed the pool and we also tried fishing in the ponds which was fun. We ate in the restaurant both nights and the food was excellent. The Safari guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. The River Lodge was the highlight of our trip to Africa. It is set on a bend with spectacular views over the Olifants River. We were able to see giraffe, elephants and hippos directly from the decking. The River Lodge has 5 rondavels, each with two beds which makes the place very special, we even had the whole place to ourselves which was really special. The safaris were good and we managed two walking safaris with Joris, the owner, which were a favourite with both kids and adults. I would thoroughly recommend Sefapane Lodge - a top quality place with great value for money. The staff were all polite, friendly and helpful."

"We stayed at Sefapane Lodge and their ultimate all inclusive River Lodge for a couple of days recently. We loved the place, the people, the hospitality and the service. The safari's are great and staying at their River Lodge is fantastic. On the Olifants River in the middle of nature. Does it get any better? We will return!!! Thank you Sefapane Family for a wonderful stay."

"We had an amazing stay at Sefapane Lodge! Our safarihouse was gorgeous, same as the view from the verandah. Love the poolbar and the restaurant with his fantastic chef! The food was delicious. All the staff is very helpful and friendly. Big thumbs up for Nico, our guide during the evening safari + braai and the full day safari in Kruger. The safari's are amazing, you are well taken care of and the food they bring is extremely good. The evening safari with the braai is a must! You can't visit Sefapane and not enjoy a bushbraai with them. I just can't tell 1 negative thing about this resort. I would have loved staying here a couple of nights more. And again (sorry, I can't remember your name) thank you for calling us that we forgot our cell phone!!"

"Sefapane Lodge is the place to go for a long term Kruger Park stay. About 2 km from the Kruger Park gate, it has 20 fantastic family houses and 30 hotel rooms "rondavels". There is a kids club, 2 swimming pools, beautiful gardens and a great restaurant and spa. They offer a fantastic range of safaris and cultural trips. It is the place to stay in Phalaborawa and probably the best family oriented lodge close to Kruger Park. Since a year they also have a small high end all inclusive lodge at the mighty Olifants River in the greater Krugerpark called the "Sefapane River Lodge". Also opposite a 18 holes golf course. We stayed at Sefapane for 10 days and did nit want to leave. Excellent!!!"

"Sefapane Lodge is located very near to one of the Kruger gates. The staff is very friendly. The accommodation is wonderful. Really, Sefapane Lodge is the best choice you can make! When you like birds, Sefapane Lodge is the best accommodation to stay, since there are more than 100 species on the lodge. Especially during the breeding season, it's very interesting to follow the different weaver species!"

"I stayed at Sefapane very often and still make use of their facilities very often. The experience I had all the time is very good and the staff are very professional. The restaurant is very good and the food is excellent."

"Our holiday started with a 3 night stay at Sefapane lodge in a self catering safari house (4 adults, 3 children). It felt like a spoiling treat to start our holiday in this location - a beautiful spacious safari house (almost larger then our place at home) with excellent service from the staff (welcome, cleaning) which offered us the opportunity to spent some quality family time enjoying 'braai' and the nice spacious veranda or the sundeck chairs. A pool for the children close and a very friendly staff. Excellent service and friendly staff during the safari we booked to the Olifants Rivier."

- Ingrid

"The outstanding feature of Sefapane, both the Main Lodge and the River Lodge, was the friendliness and willingness to help of the staff, even when this was a little confused. The meals were very good and the service attentive. We had a wonderful guide at the River Lodge, whose love and knowledge of the bush and all its wildlife were extensive and fascinating. It was the most exotic holiday I have ever had and the one week we spent there was as good as three spent elsewhere in terms of restfulness and interest."
