Shades of burnt clay and aloe serve as accent colors, while Zulu basketwork and weaving feature throughout the villa.
Suited to a family or group of eight, the villa has attractive and welcoming shared spaces that are perfect for chats or quiet time. The elegant bedrooms feature spacious bathrooms with marble basins shaped like traditional Zulu pots and luxury amenities. The villa’s state-of-the-art facilities include a gym and massage room, library, an island bar to encourage family gatherings, and a beautiful herb garden situated outside the kitchen.

"A glorious place that makes going on safari something truly special, one of the most amazing experiences ever, the staff were amazing dedicated to our every requirement and always trying to help and inform us."
"Beyond magic, this is the only to describe this magnificent place! I was so blessed to be invited by dear friends to visit Phinda Homestead, as part of my 50th birthday celebrations. And I was spoilt rotten! Absolute superb game viewing, even from one's bedroom. The game drives were very eventful and awesome. Had a wonderful game ranger, Dave, as well as super tracker, Toks, who managed to notice a chameleon on a night drive, sitting in a tree!! Greatly recommended."
"If you want to be treated like royalty while communing with nature, this is the place for you. There are only 4 rooms - it is the smallest lodge in the reserve - and you have an unbelievable amount of personal attention. You go out into the bush twice a day. The first dusk ride we found a cheetah and followed her while she stalked and took down an impala. She took her cubs to eat her kill. No sooner had they started, then a lioness and her two cubs started stalking the cheetahs. The cheetah attacked the lion and drew her away while her cubs escaped. The next day we saw the next chapter. How these guides find the action and the animals is a mystery to me!"
"If you can afford time at Phinda Homestead, don't hesitate just do it! Even if you can't afford it find a way to get in to this paradise. 4 Rooms - All friends - top quality fun, friendship & laughter. Service, food and viewing experience is simply outrageous. Love it!!!!"

"We were four couples traveling together and had a magical time at the Homestead. Cared for perfectly by Mark and Nicci we couldn;t have had a better time or had a better time game viewing. I can't recommend Homestead enough."
"Thanks to Barry, Nsika , Nicki and the rest of the Homestead team for an amazing time! We had an incredible two nights at the Homestead. The setting is idyllic with the waterhole right next to the lodge. The rooms, lounge, dining area and views are fantastic. We have great sightings of leopard, cheetah, lion and the farewell from the 20 elephants drinking from pool was out of this world. We will never forget. To Andries the food was fantastic we could have not asked for more. Yvonne, Dean, Caleb, Jordan, Tim and Leimomi say thank you !"
"After a meeting in Sun City, a group of us went to Phinda - Homestead and Forest - to spend a few days on safari. My group was at the Phinda Homestead and this was one of the most incredible and beautiful places i have ever stayed (and i am a spoiled traveler). From the moment our plane landed in Phinda, we were greeted by the most friendly staff and they took care of everything from that moment on. The Homestead was just gorgeous and the staff made sure that everything was perfect -- from the food (which was beyond good) to the rooms (gorgeous) to assuring that everything we needed was the best of the best. Our chef for the weekend catered to us with such perfection that none of us ever left the table wanting anything more than what he served. Nikki, our hostess, was the consummate professional, always making sure that we were getting our needs met. And our guide Warrick, and spotter Josiah -- were the most fun and knowledgeable people to have with us -- we saw everything and then some on our outings on the game reserve. Our group felt like this was a vacation of a lifetime and for us it truly was. i would recommend Phinda Homestead to everyone and anyone interested in having the best of both worlds -- world class accommodations in an incredible game reserve where you see all the animals you can ever imagine. Phinda is part of the &Beyond; group and they know hospitality."
"I took my son (age 17), sister, niece (age 27) and nephew (age 29) for four days. The goal was to share a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The staff, luxury accommodations, and animals far exceeded our expectations. The lodge (which must be rented out in its entirety) is beautiful and very comfortable; decorated in a calming, safari theme (but not tacky in any way). There are two lovely sleeping suites on each end of the lodge (one also has a library/TV room), with the living and dining room and kitchen in the middle building. All are connected by covered walkways. There's also a lovely outdoor dining area, small pool, lounge chairs, and very minimally outfitted exercise room (with just a treadmill and weight machine). (I would say the exercise room is more than adequate as you go for the animal experience not for a good workout. But, they feed you so exceptionally well, you really need to plan at least a few minutes on the treadmill every day!). Our guide, Mark, and tracker, Chris, must be the best in South Africa! We experienced every animal sighting we could have dreamed of, and much more! We saw the "Big 5" plus many more, arranged a rhino tagging experience (truly unbelievable), and were lucky enough to have over 20 elephants visit and drink out of the swimming pool one day right after lunch. I cannot imagine a more wonderful experience."
"Our family comprising of 10 came to "Homestead" for a special family holiday from 4 corner of the globe, & we all got far more then we expected. There were 5 little boys all under the age of 9, & Nicci, Grant, Mark & the trackers made it extremely special for all. Nicci made sure we were all comfortable at all time & we treated it as our "Home away from home" the guides Mark & Grant taught the little ones all about the bush, not just seeing the wild life.By the time we left after 4 nights my little grandson who is just 4 + knew most of the animals by name. The rooms with a view!! One room was made up just for the 5 cousins to be together. All our meals were well planned ahead by our very own "master chef" Andries, the food was always 6 star quality. more food then we could consume. brunch at 11 am, high tea at 2 p.m, sun downers + Hot chocolate at about 5.30pm then a big dinner to follow. We were all well fed!! We had the most amazing sight when about 40 elephants came to have a drink from the pool, they gave us a show for well over an hour. A memory no one can take away!! Thank you to the "Homestead" family from the D'Silva's & the Polglaze families. A Holiday never to be forgotten by all."
