Pelo Camp is located in the private Jao Concession of the world-renowned Okavango Delta. The camp got its name from the islands distinct heart shape - "Pelo" translates to "heart" in the local Setswana language. Set in one of the most beautiful ecosystems in the world, Pelo is an eco-friendly camp that offers a classic Okavango Delta experience, offering an array of adventure activities and a tranquil retreat in which to enjoy some rest and relaxation.
The camp's five safari Tents are Meru-styled and feature a bedroom and lounge area, an en-suite bathroom with indoor shower and outdoor bucket shower, overhead fan, writing desk, in-room safe, and a patio with comfortable deck chairs.
The camp facilities include a tented dining and lounge area, outdoor boma, plunge pool, and a viewing deck overlooking the lagoon.
The 150 000 acre private Jao Concession encompasses a vegetation of permanent swamps and dry land - the perfect sanctuary for wildlife. Around the Jao Flats, spectacular herds of red lechwe are followed by predators, namely lion
Pelo Camp focusses only on water safari experiences so guests can look forward to boating safaris and mokoro (traditional dugout canoe) excursions in the lagoons and intricate network of water channels. Fishing is also offered at the camp on a catch and release basis. The camp will supply guests with spinner rods and a small range of lures.
Bush walks allow guests to explore the sandy island and learn more about the River bushmen way of life.
Pelo Camp is ideal for solo explorers, couples

Children aged 13 years and older are welcome at the camp and will partake in activities with all other guests.
Children between 13 and 16 years must share with an adult in the same room.
