"Our children gave us a three day safari at Nkomazi Game reserve for Christmas, we took the holiday in May and it was just wonderful. The luxury canvas tents were extremely comfortable and clean, we had everything we required. Our bed was very very comfortable, towels were great and plenty of them. Food delightful, game drives, we did six in three days each was superb, our ranger Heinrich was knowable and he had great expertise. We saw elephants, lions, hippos, rhino's, many species of antelope and heaps of other animals. The park is secluded and wonderful landscape divided by a beautiful river. A really fabulous place to visit ! We would love to return some time...."

"We really enjoyed our trip to Nkomazi. The luxury tents were superb as was the food. The evening game drives along with the sun-downers were something special. I will be back to sample some of the fly fishing on offer!"

- James

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Nkomazi game reserve and your ‘boundless hospitality’ hallmark was very evident, great location, over looking the river. The game drives great, saw the animals, very much enjoined getting very close up with the cheaters. and the drivers were very knowledgeable and informative. So, once again, thank you for everything and we will not hesitate to recommend you to our friends."

"Have just come back from 5 nights at Nkomazi as part of our trip to South Africa. This beautiful game reserve has been truly memorable. The tents are the most luxurious accommodation I have stayed in from the large bed to the stunning view from the toilet. They are positioned so you have complete privacy unable to see any other tent from yours just the stunning view of the river and mountains. The food is more than plentiful we never needed lunch. The hot flannels and drinks following each game drive very welcome. Our guide Kilmon was amazing. He was so knowledgeable about the history of the area as well as the animals and plants and birds. He gave us an impromptu star gazing session when we asked him about a certain star. He could spot an animal at several kilometers distance. We particularly enjoyed the display the elephants seemed to put on for us and watching and listening to the crunch of the lions eating the recent kill from 20 feet away was awesome. He also treated us to a guided walk halfway through one of the game drives. The sun-downers were very civilized and we even ended up climbing a rock with glasses of wine in hand because Kilmon had heard an elephant and wanted to show it to us. the spa treatments were very relaxing and a lovely way to spend an hour in the day. I would thoroughly recommend Nkomazi to anyone who wants a more personal, exclusive experience that is more like a select house party than staying in a hotel. And thank you Kilmon for the wonderful drives."

"We stayed for two nights (tent 12), the accommodation was luxurious; the bed large and very comfortable. There is a safe for valuables, a toilet with a view and a shower inside the tent. You can have a bath outside (private where no-one can see you). There is also a small private plunge pool where we relaxed, had a drink and looked at game through the binoculars. Staff were very friendly and helpful, Heinrich was our Ranger for our stay and was very knowledgeable and an excellent guide. Each game drive was varied, different animals, different locations etc. The food and wine were top class, there were snacks and coffee laid out before the morning game drive, breakfast when you came back (we didn't have lunch as breakfast was so big), afternoon cakes before the afternoon game drive and after arriving back there was time to freshen up and then dinner was served."

"We spent a weekend at the lodge and had one of our best holidays ever. The service was brilliant, the food was good, the room was spectacular and the game viewing was superb with very well trained game rangers."

"From the first greeting we knew this was going to be very special. Cool drinks in the shade before setting off on the 1/2 hour drive to the camp, and then welcomed with the staff singing for us. The lodges are outstanding in comfort, the food delicious and the staff fabulous. We had a sunset and sunrise safari and saw lions, elephant, giraffe, water buffalo and monkeys . A truly 6 star experience. Go!"

"This place is just simply the best! I cannot find one fault with it at all! Everyone of the staff members is always smiling, happy and always wiling to help. The food is amazing and there really is a lot of it! The game rangers are very knowledgeable and great trackers! the tent is beautiful (we stayed in tent 5 which is right by the rapids of the river) We loved the outdoor shower and bath and the honeymoon room turn down was stunning, we actually asked to have a bubble bath run every night in the outdoor bath and this was no hassle at all for the staff. We felt like royalty at this tented lodge and would recommend it to everyone!!"

"Nkomazi was recommended to us by our children after spending time there for their honeymoon. We made a booking for 3 nights over Christmas. We were not disappointed! Everything was just splendid. Our tent was situated extremely private. The food was excellent. Some of the most friendly staff we have ever came apart. Our guide was well informed and went out of his way to make every game drive special. If the opportunity arises we will most definitely return."

"What an unbelievable experience we had at Nkomazi this last weekend. Absolute luxury in the bush. Best bed I've ever slept in. Loved the outside baths. Tents were so luxurious. My hubby and I went to the spa whilst Celebrate (our brilliant game ranger) took our boys fishing. Had such fun tracking lions we tried so hard with Celebrate's help and cant wait to return to find them. Such a special weekend. Beautiful sunsets magnificent sun rises, surprise breakfast set up in the bush. What more can a family ask for. Such special hospitality shown by all rangers and staff."
