Accommodation

Mosu Lodge accommodates guests in a gorgeous pair of air-conditioned suites and thirteen two-person bedrooms, all complete with en-suite bathroom facilities and access to the lodge's restaurant, bar, and swimming pool facilities. Also available to guests is the lodge's entertainment area, cozy fireplace, and fully equipped conference facilities, seating up to 120 people. 

Activities & Facilities

Guests at Mosu Lodge can look forward to excellent hiking trails, backpacking trips, and stunning bird watching excursions, as well as game viewing trips to local waterholes, and exciting 4x4 trails. Park facilities at Mokala include a swimming pool, pool table, cable television, and on-site bars.

Important Information

The nearest vehicle filling station lies 52 km from the Mokala National Park main gate - there is no fuel available in the park itself.

Intra-park road networks are of an extremely high quality.

Conference Facilities

The Mosu Conference is a perfect venue for workshops and team building events. There are no breakaway rooms, but the conference boasts air-conditioning and a fire place.

Overhead projector, data projectors, podium, TV, CD player and a VHS recorder.

Details:

The conference room is able to seat 30 delegates in a U-shape style or 40 delegates in a thearte style.

The venue can be used during the day and night.

Wildlife

Eland, Gemsbok, Zebra, Black Rhino and White Rhino, Roan Antelope, Red Hartebeest, Tsessebe, Mountain Reedbuck, Giraffe, Gemsbok, Red Hartebeest, Tsessebe, Wildebeest, Steenbok, Disease-free Buffalo, Kudu, and Ostrich, all make their homes in the Mokala National Park.

Bird enthusiasts can find the Kalahari black-chested prinia and Karoo rufous-eared warbler, cinnamon-breasted bunting, freckled nightjar, short-toed rock thrush, melodious lark.

Directions

To Mokala:

• Take the N12 route to Cape Town from Kimberley.

• 57km from Kimberley, on the Hayfield / Heuningneskloof Crossing, turn right on a gravel road.

• Travel 21km until you get to the gate of Mokala National Park on your right hand side. The main Administration and Reception Building is a further 7km inside the park. Allow about 90 minutes’ drive from Kimberley to the main lodge.

• From Cape Town, follow the N12 north, pass Hopetown. 65km north of Hopetown, turn left on the Hayfield / Heuningneskloof Crossing. Travel 21km until you reach the gate of Mokala National Park.

Reviews

It was our 2. stay in the Mokala National Park. It was again marvelous. Our wonderful Chalet Nr.2 was opposite the waterhole. All over the day and the evening we watched differnt kinds of spríngboks, oryx antilopes, warthogs, hartebeasts and other animals.

Mokala is a gentle peaceful haven - no predators, so the game is unstressed and relaxed. Booking in was pleasant and easy, our chalet was really comfortable, though could do with some sprucing up and the restaurant was excellent - particularly as the staff had to cope with load-shedding! All in all, a lovely place to spend a day or two.

Really enjoyed the stay. Highlights were the quality of the restaurant food and the friendliness of the staff. Punctuality of staff (excl front desk) was a problem though.

Another gem SA has to offer! What an amazing National Park - plenty of game to see. Staff exceptional - so friendly and helpful - accommodation great. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We really enjoyed seeing many of the more rare antelope. The Camp was beautifully clean and the reception very pleasant. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was not being able to drive up to our accommodation to unload. However, we appreciate the reason being to keep the area around the bungalow in good condition. We also enjoyed the bird life very much.

Mosu Camp is wonderful - modern, with all the amenities, and a bonus is the floodlit waterhole, where we could watch the animals in the evening and at sunrise. The restaurant was attractive and the menu items well-priced and very tasty. The service was good and all the staff with whom we interacted were friendly and helpful.
