Honeyguide - Khoka Moya - Manyeleti Game Reserve| safari.com

Overview

The culturally significant Manyeleti Private Game Reserve occupies a prime ecological position, sharing unfenced borders and a wandering population of wild and wonderful animals with the Kruger, Sabi Sands, and Timbavati Game Reserves. Occupied and operated by the resident Mnisi tribe of the area, who themselves share generations worth of history with the area, and who now remain committed to promoting and protecting this exquisite summer paradise.

Honeyguide's Khoka Moya Lodge is luxury straddled across the simple elegance of a riverbed. With lodging and facilities flanking both sides of this pleasing fissure, Khoka Moya boasts a sleek, corrugated iron design, and a family friendly atmosphere, and the abundance of outdoor seating means that much of your time here is spent conversing out in the open, as the bush comes to life around you.

Children's Program
The children's program is mainly safari-orientated, sharing the knowledge and wonders of Africa, and also includes an activity centre, supervised by the camp staff, offering a variety of activities such as beadwork, cookie making, drawing and reading. The centre is stocked with a DVD player and a variety of animal and nature related movies, toys as well as a small library aimed at a younger readership. Children are welcome to go on walks with their parents. We have also added a short (1 hour) drive for the children after breakfast where time will be spent looking at some of the small wonders of the bushveld.

Accommodation

Khoka Moya accommodation is made in twelve exclusive tents, each sporting en-suite bathroom facilities, private verandahs, luxurious furnishings and double showers.

Wildlife

"Home to some of the best game viewing in South Africa", Manyeleti Game Reserve offers its guests huge selections of lion, buffalo, leopard, elephant and rhino to spot on their excursions into the veld, as well as ample opportunities to enjoy thriving birdlife nestled among lush vegetation.

As part of our holidays in the Greater Kruger National Park in August, we spent two nights in a family tent at the Honeyguide Khoka Moya Camp. At first, I’ve to say that we spent a lot of time searching for an accommodation to experience a more adventurous stay in the bush. Honeyguide Tented Safari Camps – sleeping in a comfortable tent in a camp without fences right in the middle of the bush – really sounded great to us. I read a lot of reviews, but as I read one review saying “I woke up early one morning, opened the tent and the elephant was right in front of me” I had to book it – and we weren't disappointed. Right at the beginning of our trip two elephants welcomed us at the reserve entrance gate. In the evening an elephant walked by during dinner and spent some time close to our tent so that we couldn't go to bed at first – an unforgettable experience to be such close to elephants. Overall, we can say that our stay at Khoka Moya met all our expectations. The tent was very clean, perfectly arranged and with very comfortable beds. The service and food were excellent – even though we had some special diet requirements the cook was always very creative and came up with something nice for us. Our guides always tried the best to spot and to get us as close as possible to the Big Five – and it finally took us only two days to see all of them. Together with our guide Devance we went out on a longer bush walk to learn more about the bush, trees and flowers, tracks and signs, birds and insects – it was absolutely fantastic. And it was always nice to chat with our guide and guests about the bush, animals we saw and their behavior while eating together. If you look for a real African Bush experience in a tent without sacrificing comfort and safety, we can only recommend a stay at Honeyguide Khoka Moya.Thank you all very much for an unforgettable stay in the bush,

Beautiful scenario and very professional guides for a two full days game drive in a park near the famous Kruger park. Seen the big five and so many other animals. Good food and hospitality. Take wool suits because you may need them in the night and in the early morning

Spent 3 days on a safari. The guides were great guys and very focused and knowledgeable. The service at the camp was outstanding and dinners very good. Located in the middle of the park means you can see animals all the time. Don't spend just one day, three is optimal.you feel part of a family, we'll definitely be back!

I loved Honeyguide camp. The staff was friendly, food good and the guide and tracker excellent. Proximity to the water hole allowed for good animal viewing just sitting in the lounge. The tents were comfortable and being able to listen to the sounds of nature at night was amazing. The only thing that would have been nice is a little more room for storing suitcases, clothing, etc; otherwise, perfect. Pam

So many memories of an African safari location. The tents are very comfortable. Maybe some people may feel out of their comfort zone by the "openness" of them. The food was outstanding. The organisation of the twice daily safaris very impressive. Our guide, Dries, just made the whole visit so special for us. Expect early mornings, early to bed evenings and a mind, on leaving, packed with so many memories. We would certainly return.
