Kalahari Plains Camp is set in a remote part of the diverse Central Kalahari Game Reserve and offers some of the best wildlife viewing opportunities in Africa. Located in the Kalahari Desert biome in the central part of Botswana, this reserve is the largest conservation area in the country and one of the largest in the world. The Kalahari is most famous for its clear starry skies, black-maned lion and some of the best cheetah sightings.
Kalahari Plains Camp boasts eight Tents that feature two three quarter beds, en-suite bathroom with shower, writing desk, overhead fan, tea and coffee making facilities, a comfortable couch, outdoor patio with deck chairs, and a sleep-out on the upper level - perfect for enjoying the moonlight and starry skies.
One of the tents is perfect for families with two bedrooms, two en-suite bathrooms, and entrance that shares a deck.
The camp facilities include a lounge, bar, dining area, swimming pool and viewing deck.
Twice daily game drives or full-day excursions take place in open 4x4 vehicles and directed by professional guides. With the lodge being in a National Park, the guides are required to adhere to the regulations of the Department of Wildlife and National Parks restricting both off-road driving and night driving.
The Kalahari teems with wildlife all year round, but with the arrival of the summer rains, the desert comes to life. An abundance of plains game such as springbok and gemsbok gather in their hundreds to graze, followed closely by
