Reviews

"We were so surprised to find such a nice tented lodge just 20 minutes from the entrance to Chobe National Park. The tents were quite luxurious with very comfortable beds and an en-suite bathroom. The outdoor and indoor dining overlooked a watering hole that had a constant parade of wildlife....especially after dark. The guides that they provided were superb and spotted animals that others that we spoke to did not see."

"We stayed 2 nights and had a very enjoyable time. The best part of our stay was eating dinner outside and watching the animal show under the floodlights at the waterhole about 60 ft. away. We saw a lion, a hyena, and then the elephants silently made their way in to drink. There were mothers and calves and the bachelor bulls taking turns at the well with the mothers giving the bulls some shoves and some tusk pushes. This show went on for 2 hours. Very cool. Daniel, our guide was great, very knowledgeable about the birds and animals. We saw 2 leopards mating in the daytime, which Daniel said was amazing as he had never seen this in 18 years of guiding, nor had the other guides. all the staff were very attentive to our needs, with excellent meals. thanks Roni and Sue and all the staff. "Just finishing a one night stay - wish we had time for another night or two. We are a party of eight. We arrived early yesterday morning and took in a land safari before returning for lunch at 1:30 PM. Nice buffet lunch and then some rest time before a boat safari from 3 to 7 PM. Back for dinner in the boma (Barbecue area overlooking the water hole. During the evening the water hole was visited by a leopard, hyenas, white owl, elephants, a jackal, wart hogs, baboons, and a pride of five lions. An amazing experience.Finished in the morning with an early safari (5:30 to 9:00 AM). The accommodation are very nice - having a bathroom and shower in each room is great. Our tour guide for all three safaris. Eugene, was amazing. We saw lions, elephants, zebra, all sorts of antelope, hippos, crocs, painted dogs, and too many bird species to mention. Would definitely come again and recommend to friends."

"We stayed there 2 nights. The tent cabins were cozy with a full shower and toilet. They have a fenced off watering hole just outside the camp where you could watch animals drinking at all times of the day. They just turned over management and there were some minor problems at first, but management quickly resolved them and went out of their way to accommodate us. In several months, I'm sure this will be a five rating."

"We stayed at EV Lodge for 2 nights as a party of 8 adults. The staff were nothing but polite and attentive. Both evenings we spent a lot of time chatting with Richard and his team. The game drives with Daniel were fantastic. His knowledge and passion for the job was clearly visible and he tried his up most to find a huge variety of animals. On our final morning he took us out at 5:30am in search of a pride of lions. The food was great and varied each day. Whilst eating at the Boma on our last night we were joined at the watering hole by a family of 7 giraffes - an experience that will never leave our memories! Thanks for a great stay we hope to come back one day. The Hartley's."

"Enjoyed a 3 week business/holiday trip to Africa in Sep/Oct 2014, Elephant Valley Lodge was our last stop and the icing on the cake of a wonderful experience. We really enjoyed the tented accommodation, first class food, and two animal viewing outings each day. The morning trip was by boat on the Chobe River and the afternoon/evening trip by Jeep. The Lodge/Camp has its own small lake, where you can watch animals gather morning & night from the comfort of the dining room and lounge. A special mention to Jade (Office Manager?) and Driver/Guide Zambo, for a very special visit."

"My experience at Elephant Valley Lodge was really incredible. You are just outside of Chobe National park where there is so much game to view. The staff was so friendly, they really made you feel welcome and made sure anything you need is taken care of. Even though there is a fence around the compound, there are animals all around you and you can hear them in the middle of the night and watch them at the watering hole just beyond the fence of the compound. The safaris were definitely the best part though as there was so much to see. All of the guide's seemed great, but we really lucked out in getting Zambo. I honestly cannot imagine a guide that is better. He knew so much about the animals and the area, and really made the experience that much more fun with his personality. I would definitely recommend staying here and request Zambo if you get the chance."

"Our last stay for two nights was one of the climaxes of our wonderful trip to South Africa. I was at first dubious about sleeping in a tent but it was a very glamorous tent with a spacious en-suite. To sit in a comfortable lounge area overlooking a waterhole which was visited by elephants, mongoose, baboons, lions, impalas and other monkeys while drinking reasonably priced wines was amazing. Richard, Esther and the staff were friendly, helpful and good fun. The food was plentiful and tasty. Heading off on safari and for a boat cruise on the Chobe River with very knowledgeable guides was very interesting and enjoyable too."

"I have lived and visited many parts of Africa over the past several years. This was my first venture into Botswana. I found crossing from Zambia to Botswana painless and quick despite the bridge being built at the boat launch site. We were greeted by staff from the lodge and a quick drive found us at the lodge having driven by several elephants roaming the road. We stayed in a large tented room with a porch over looking the lodge's animal watering hole. We found our room very clean with all the amenities we needed. We spent a lot of time enjoying the bird and animal life that came to the watering hole. This time of year we weren't sure what type of animal and bird life we would see in Chobe National Park. We weren't disappointed with the wildlife. Our guide was respectful of the rules of the park and yet we had great views of two lions stalking a heard of water buffalo. Our land and river safaris were amazing with beauty and wildlife. Our stay at the lodge was just as amazing. The meals were excellent and the common area relaxing. We will definitely return to Botswana to explore more of the country. Elephant Valley Lodge will be part of this trip"

"This was our first real taste of Africa and the animals. our guide, Ren, was very friendly and his knowledge of the area and animals together with his friendliness and sense of humour made our tours wonderful! Permanent tented accommodation was very comfortable and food and service by all staff was excellent! definitely recommend!"
