Chitabe Lediba Camp

The 69 000 acre private Chitabe Concession is situated in the south-east of the Okavango Delta and is characterized by its grassy floodplains which separate the channel from acacia and mopane woodland. The western half of the concession has as its boundary the Santantadibe River and here a variety of typical Okavango habitats ensure a year-round variety of game viewing and birding experiences. 

Chitabe Lediba Camp provides an intimate setting that is ideal for small groups of friends or families with only five elevated Meru-style Tents. Each of the tents feature two three-quarter beds draped in mosquito netting, en-suite bathrooms with double vanities, indoor and outdoor showers; writing desk, electronic safe, indoor sitting area, tea and coffee making facilities, adaptor charging facilities, a yoga mat and weights (2 x 2.5kg weights), pedestal fan, ceiling fan, and an outdoor patio with comfortable chairs. One of the tents is ideal for honeymooners or couples as it offers a king-size bed.

Two of the tents are ideal for families as they have two bedrooms, two en-suite bathrooms, and entrance which is separated by a boardwalk and shares a deck. The main bedroom features one king-size bed and the second bedroom has two three quarter beds and no outside shower. 

The camp facilities include a dining area, lounge and pool have a glorious vantage over the small Lediba (remnant lagoon that has become a waterhole) after which the camp is named and where multitudes of wildlife come to drink.

Game drives reveal the rich wildlife of the area from predators to prey. Day and night game drives are conducted in open 4x4 Land Rovers and led by professional guides.

Guided walking safaris afford you the opportunity of seeing animals on foot as well as the smaller wondrous creatures of the African bush. Walking safaris are a great way of also seeing the diverse number of bird species living on the concession. This activity is dependent on the availability of guides.

It is this diversity and a mix of Okavango and Kalahari habitats that makes Chitabe unique and which allows good concentrations of all the larger predators – lion, leopard, spotted hyena, cheetah and wild dog – as well as herbivores like giraffe, buffalo, lechwe, tsessebe, impala and elephant.

Child Policy

Children 6 years and older are welcome at the camp.

Families traveling with children between 6 and 12 years of age are required to book private activities.

Children between 6 and 16 years of age must share with an adult in the same room.

No children under the age of 13 years are permitted on walking safaris.
