Itinerary

Day 1 - 3: Hwange National Park

Accommodation: Somalisa Camp

Your African safari starts in Hwange National Park where you will get to explore the ultimate elephant empire. In the heart of this pristine park is Somalisa Camp, 45-minute flight from Victoria Falls Airport followed by a 30-minute transfer. Zimbabwean guides are recognized as being amongst the best in Africa. Walking safaris were perfected in Hwange and Somalisa’s guides offer guests the opportunity to view wildlife close up on foot.

Your haven for the first three nights is this elegant and authentic safari camp tucked away on a remote island of acacia trees within an ancient floodplain. Somalisa Camp offers elegantly furnished tents equipped with a private viewing deck and an en suite bathroom boasting superb views over the savannah.
Built around an elephant drinking hole, the camp is visited frequently by these gentle giants as well as other wildlife, offering the ultimate ‘armchair’ safari experience.

Look forward to personal touches and experience true romance in the bush. After a venturesome first three nights, it’s time to say goodbye to Hwange. A 30-minute transfer back to Manga Airstrip sees you boarding the flight over to the next leg of your trip.

Day 4 & 5: Lake Kariba

Accommodation: Bumi Hills Safari Lodge

Board a short-haul flight to Lake Kariba where you will be welcomed at the iconic and magical Bumi Hills Safari Lodge. An utterly beautiful, soothing place, with glorious sunrises and views of elephants wading in the water below.

The premium rooms are equipped with large glass sliding doors that open onto balconies, offering breath-taking views of the lake and the wildlife below.

Spend your days on private boat cruises while trying your hand at some tiger fishing; scenic walking safaris along the lakeside; and game drives in search of Matusadona National Park’s famed lions. Indulge in a soothing treatment at the lodge’s spa while savouring the fantastic views over the lake.

You will be back at the lodge each evening in time for the stunning pink to gold sunsets reflected onto the waters - enjoyed from the comfort of your room and private balcony

Day 6: Depart Kariba

Today you bid farewell to Lake Kariba as you transfer back to the airstrip for your scheduled charter flight back to the International Airport. Depending on your flight time you might be able to squeeze in a morning game drive before your departure. Once you arrive at the airport, you will connect with your onward travel arrangements.
