Accommodation: Zululand Lodge

Your journey begins with an early departure as you take to the road from the city of Johannesburg and wind down into the heart of Zululand. Known for its green hills, waving grasslands and abundant forests, Zululand is home to many parks, farms and nature reserves. Spend the afternoon exploring the lodge and listening to the calls of the abundant birdlife that surrounds you.

Day 2: Mkuzi Game Reserve, South Africa

Accommodation: Zululand Lodge

Your first day will be spent exploring the beauty of the bush on a morning walk followed by an exciting afternoon game drive in Mkuzi Game Reserve. Mkuzi Game Reserve is a protected area and plays a key role in the preservation of the highly endangered black and white rhino. Be sure to have your camera ready for some spectacular photographic opportunities, as you look onto an active waterhole from a nearby hide.

Day 3: Hluhluwe Game Reserve, South Africa

Accommodation: Zululand Lodge

On your last day in the bush, you will explore Hluhluwe Game Reserve, the oldest proclaimed nature reserve in Africa with 237 000 acres of traversing land. Visiting KwaZulu- Natal would not be complete without visiting a local Zulu village, so this afternoon prepare for a treat as you learn about the history, culture and traditions of the Zulu people.

Day 4 - 5: Kosi Bay, KwaZulu Natal

Accommodation: Amangwane Lodge

After a heart-warming breakfast, you bid farewell to Zululand and head towards Kosi Bay. You will spend the next two days exploring the sea life at Kosi Bay River Mouth and sinking your toes into the sand as you relax in the sun.

Day 6: Swaziland, South Africa

Accommodation: Hlane Royal National Park

After some much-needed relaxation in Kosi Bay, you say goodbye and continue your journey into the Kingdom of Swaziland. Perhaps this afternoon you will relax by the pool or sit and look out onto the waterhole that is sure to attract many animals.

Day 7: Maputo, Mozambique

Accommodation: Catembe Gallery Hotel

This morning you bid farewell to the Kingdom of Swaziland as you head towards the coastline of Mozambique. We suggest a visit to the Maputo Central Market this afternoon, ending off the day with a perfectly prepared seafood dinner.

Day 8 - 10: Inhambane, Mozambique

Accommodation: Palm Grove Resort

This morning after breakfast, you will transfer to your resort in Inhambane. Relax and enjoy the warm crystal blue sea and expansive white beaches; or perhaps you will take a ride on a dhow boat, go horse riding on the beach or venture into the water to admire the beauty of the ocean.

Day 11: Bilene, Mozambique

Accommodation: Laguna Camp

Staying on the coastline but heading in a southerly direction, we head for the shores of Bilene. After checking into your Camp, you have the option to spend the afternoon exploring the lagoon by kayak or snorkel, swimming in the shallow calm waters. The day ends with the option of dining at a local restaurant that overlooks the lagoon before retreating back to your chalet for the evening.

Day 12 - 13: Kruger National Park, South Africa

Accommodation: Kruger National Park Chalets

This morning you bid farewell to the Indian Ocean coast, as you travel through the Limpopo Transfrontier Park and enter the renowned Kruger National Park. An icon for Big 5 safaris, you will be sure to enjoy exhilarating morning and afternoon game drives. If you are feeling adventurous, perhaps you may wish to take the optional night game drives before retreating to your chalet.

Day 14: Johannesburg, South Africa

Accommodation: Own Arrangements

After an early morning game drive and breakfast, you return to Johannesburg. Arriving this evening, you will either journey back home or check into a hotel for the evening. Sun-tanned and relaxed, you leave Africa with a heavy heart and a desire to return.
